I played a pivotal role in transforming Rio’s Piri Piri brand from a single branch to a flourishing chain of over 35 franchised nationwide stores. Working closely with the strategic team I was able to deliver a scalable brand with eye-catching logos, menus and marketing materials that resonated with customers. My work on their social media campaigns and promotional strategies boosted their visibility and customer engagement. Consistent branding across all touchpoints ensured a memorable customer experience, driving their nationwide expansion.
Piri Piri cuisine has its roots in a fusion of South African and Portuguese culinary traditions. Portuguese settlers in Mozambique and South Africa discovered the local African Bird’s Eye chilli and combined it with their own spices and cooking techniques, creating the iconic Piri Piri sauce. This blend of cultures resulted in a unique, flavourful cuisine that has gained international popularity. This was reflected with an ‘earthy’ colours complemented with a contrasting bright colour palette and bold yet fun typography.
